My topic, which is the use of the iPad in the operating room, is still very broad and somewhat confusing. There are so many realms of study for this specific topic that I find it difficult to narrow the topic down and get it on a straight, clear path. I ultimately want to learn and teach the benefits and even the disadvantages of doctors using the iPad in the operating room during surgery. I have found that it is much easier to find positives about technological use in the medical field than it is to find negatives on it. I also need to dig deeper into scholarly research rather than the more casual articles that I have found online.
I am excited about the prospect of working with students that have similar and dissimilar ideas as me. I know that working with a number of other students will strengthen my topic and ideas greatly. I hope to narrow down my topic greatly so that I have a more clear idea of what exactly I want to learn about, but at the same time I want to learn new ideas from others that I work with.
